Young Africans making a positive impact on society.

The African Youth Initiative (AYI) is a not-for-profit organisation formed in response to the disengagement of African youth growing up in the western suburbs of Melbourne. Through role-modelling and a range of initiatives, we aim to reconnect African youth to their communities and empower them to be positive contributors to society. Our mission, vision and values are expressed below:

Mission: To transform the mentality of young Africans so that they carefully assess their actions and the consequences of their actions.

Vision: To see Young Africans engaged in making a positive impact in their own lives and on society.

Our Values:

· Empathy: Providing African youth with a platform to be heard and understood and share their voices.

· Engagement: Connecting African youth with relevant services and their unique interests.

· Empowerment: Encouraging African youth to utilise their individuality to make a positive difference to their communities.

· Excellence: Helping African youth to reach their full potential and achieve desired outcomes.
